Polona Mesec is a translator in humanities and social sciences, and is currently writing her PhD thesis in theoretical psychoanalysis at the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana, where she first completed her undergraduate study of translation and the study of the Italian language and literature, and later obtained the Master of Arts degree in Women Studies and Feminist Theory. Her fields of interest include the status of femininity and women, sexual difference, the position of enunciation and autobiography in feminism, psychoanalysis and philosophy. Her translations or co-translations include over thirty monographs and a large number of scientific and expert articles on art; she is the author and co-author of several scientific essays.
